Can the Islanders Recover from Dipietro's Injury?
Rick Dipietro is my favourite 15-year man. I always liked him(maybe not for 15 years) and he has proved his worth for this season and has shown how much the Islanders need him to be successful. The New York Islanders were the hottest teams before the injury, which leaves them temporarily, leaves them in 11th place.
Dipietro did lose in his first game back but I don’t expect that to continue. Here are the Isles last games of the season:
Tomorrow vs. Pittsburgh
March 24 vs. Philadelphia
March 25 vs. NYR
March 27 vs. NJ
March 30 vs. Buffalo
March 31st vs. Ottawa
April 3rd vs. NYR
April 5th vs. Toronto
April 7th @ Philadelphia
April 8th @ New Jersey
I predict 2 wins against Philadelphia, a split with the Rangers and New Jersey, a losses to Pittsburgh, Buffalo and Ottawa and the match up with the Leafs as a toss up. This is a tough end of the season schedule. While I do like what this team has looking at what they have accomplished does not say dominant team and it looks like they barely get by unless the team they are playing is crap.
Dipietro is going to have a few tough games as it is sometimes hard for goalies who play with most of the workload to get back into form. It will be close but hopefully it doesn’t come down to the April 8th game against New Jersey and NJ decides to play Clemmensen since most teams would have finished up their seasons the night before.
